DETAILED ITINERARY:

Day 1: Luang Prabang – Luang Nam Tha

Pick - up from your hotel today we will take a drive to Luang Nam Tha. The journey will take approximately 8 hours. Along the way we will stop for Lunch (not included) prior to visiting Hmong hill tribe the High Lander Lao to experience their ways of life later check - in at your chosen hotel.

Day 2: Luang Nam Tha

Today will start to explore Luangnamtha visiting That Luang stupa. Built in similar style to That Luang stupa in Vientiane this stupa also allows for stunning view of LuangNam Tha. Following this we then visit the near by hill tribe village of Lan Tan. Here is the opportunity to experience how paper is made from bamboo and also how the hill tribe make their clothes by weaving and using  natural colour dyeing process. Depending on the season, enjoy a visit to the village waterfall. Returning to the hotel late afternoon the rest of the day is leisure.

Day 3: Luang Nam Tha – Muang Sing

After breakfast about 2 hours drive from Luangnamtha to Muang Sing along the way stopping to visit Hill tribe village of Akha to observe their traditional way of life. We will then drive on to Muang Sing in the afternoon visiting around the town before checking in at your hotel.

Day 4: Muang Sing – OudomXay – Muang La

Leaving from Muang Sing to drive to OudomXay which is approximately 4 hours. Here is the stop for lunch (not included). From here we head to Muang La which is around 28 km drive. Check- in at your hotel late afternoon and the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 5: Muang La –  4x4 wheel drive to Akha hill tribe village

Today we will take a 4x4 wheel drive into the mountains for approximately 2 hours, on the way stopping to observe the great view and visiting the Yao hill tribe village which are the sub – group of the Hmong high Lander who originate from China. Experience how they still live today with their very old traditions before driving further reaching the Akha tribe village where we will observe their life styles and traditional homes followed by Lunch (not included) afterwards we will drive back to Muang La.

Day 6: MuangLa – Muang khau – Ban Sop Jam Homestay

Driving approximately 1 hour to MuangKhau where we will take a boat cruise on the NamOu river which has very stunning mountain views along the river banks. The cruise will take approximately 1:30 hours to Ban Sop Jam home stay. Here is also the opportunity to take part in a traditional Baci Ceremony. This evening dinner is

included.

Day 7: Ban Sop Jam Home stay village – Nong Khiaw 

After breakfast we will continue by boat and cruise along the river to Nong Khiaw. after around 1 hour the boat will reach Nong Khiaw by late afternoon. Check in at your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore this lovely town and surroundings with the stunning mountains and forest views.

Day 8: Nong Khiaw

After Breakfast we will have a short drive to visit the Tham Pha Thok cave which was used as a war shelter during the Indochina war between 1964 – 1973. Since this time the cave has now become a main visiting attraction. Afterwards enjoy a leisurely hike to the top of the mountain viewpoint which has the most spectacular views of the town. (hike takes approximately 1 hour each way). The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 9: Nong khiew – Luang Prabang

After breakfast we will drive back to Luang Prabang which take approximately 4 hours arriving into Luang Prabang late afternoon. Check – in at the hotel the rest of the day is leisure.

Day 10: Luang Prabang – Departure

The morning is at your leisure, giving you the opportunity for any last minute souvenir shopping until your transfer to the airport.
