DETAILED ITINERARY:

Day 1 - Houay Xay - PakBeng

  • Upon arrival into Laos you will be met at the front of the Lao Immigration Office in Houay Xay at the agreed time.  From here we will transfer to Houay Xay boat pier by Tuk Tuk where we will embark on our luxury boat cruising downstream on the Mekong river. 

  • On the way we will make a brief stop at Pak Tha to have the necessary boat documents signed.

  • Our second stop will be to visit a Hill Tribe village along the Mekong river where you will be given an explanation of the way of life and the origins of these rural populations.

  • Lunch will be served on board and the afternoon is free for you to relax and taste local flavors with seasonal snacks and drinks.

  • The boat will arrive in PakBeng before sunset where you will retreat to your accommodation for the night.

Day 2 -PakBeng - Luang Prabang

  • The boat departs for Luang Prabang at 08:00.  Use your free time in the morning to ask questions about Luang Prabang and Laos.

  • Lunch will be served on the boat.

  • In the afternoon we make a stop at Pak Ou Caves and view its thousands of Buddha images.

  • The boat will arrive in Luang Prabang around 16:30.

NOTE:

  • This is a public cruise and you will be accompanied by other travelers, however, you will have your own personal English Speaking tour guide.

  • Should you wish to travel on your own private boat please contact us for details and we can quote accordingly. 

  • The boats are specially made for the Mekong cruise.  The hull is made of steel and passenger decks are made from precious local wood - rosewood and teak.
