DETAILED ITINERARY:

Day 1 - Luang Prabang - Arrival

You will be met at the airport by your local Private Guide and transfer by private air conditioned vehicle to your chosen hotel.  

This evening you may wish to take the opportunity to explore the Night Market and walk along the Mekong river at your leisure.

Day 2 - City Tour | TAEC Centre | Monk Interaction

After breakfast at your hotel your guide will meet you where you will be transferred by private vehicle to driving straight to Wat Xieng Thong temple which is one of the most beautiful in Laos.  Upon leaving Vat Xieng Thong we will take a walk through the streets of Luang Prabang observing the historical architecture of French colonial buildings and local life before paying a visit to the National Museum, the Former Royal palace which was built 1904-1909 by the French Architect and was gift from the French to our last king of Laos.

The final stop is a visit to the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (TAEC) the museum is a dedication to the preservation on the arts and culture of Laos' diverse ethnic groups.

Early evening visit a local temple and observe the monks chanting.  This is a further opportunity to experience daily life of a buddhist monk.  Learn and practice the same meditation techniques taught inside the temple which will give you a better understanding of the importance of meditation in Buddhism.

Day 3 - Luang Prabang - Lao Minority Village | Kuang Si Waterfall 

Today your guide and driver will transfer you by private air conditioned vehicle to a local Lao Minority Village, approximately 1 hour outside of Luang Prabang, located within the mountains.  Here you can see how Hmong and Khmu tribes still live today with their traditional and unique way of life and a chance to meet the local people.   

 

In the afternoon drive to Kuang Si Waterfall.  Upon arrival we will take a leisurely hike through the National Park towards Kuang Si Waterfall.  On the way pass by the Asian Bear Rescue Centre.  Enjoy feeling the mist of the cool, turquoise water of the different waterfalls.  Hike to the top of the main waterfall from where you can enjoy the panoramic views.

 

Return to the pools at the bottom of the falls where you can enjoy a refreshing swim should you wish.

 

The day ends upon your return to your hotel.  The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 4 - Luang Prabang | Departure

The morning is at your leisure, giving you the opportunity for any last minute souvenir shopping until your transfer to the airport.
