The local currency in Laos is the KIP, which is a closed currency and therefore is only available to exchange within Laos.  Whilst USD and Thai Baht are also accepted this isn't always convenient for travellers and any change will be given in KIP.   To support tourists with payments BCEL Bank in Lao has created OneCash which is an electronic wallet and the user doesn't need to have an account with the bank.  Users do need to have a Lao SIM card in order to set up which can be purchased upon arrival.  The guide below will help you get started.....
